CERACLAD Framework Toward Sustainable Growth

What is Ceraclad’s Perspective on Green Building and the Concept of Sustainable Cladding?

Every building is unique in its design, and not all of them are obligated to adhere to the same standards. Different regions, climate conditions, cultures, economic and social priorities, all play a part in how green building is approached. Going green has become the gold standard for many designers working in offices, schools, hospitals, and even residential. There are a number of features that can make your building green, but we will focus on three we feel are the most important.

Ceraclad’s Green Vision on Track to Net Zero

CERACLAD’s goal is to reduce our product’s net carbon
emissions to 50% by 2030 and to net zero by 2050. We will be receiving our EPD Certificate in Spring of 2024.

Scoping 1 & Scope 2 will be moving ahead in energy-saving in factories and offices. We will be reviewing factory production processes for utilizing decarbonized energy.

Scope 3 will focus on reducing disposal and waste at job
sites. As well as developing low-carbon raw materials and products. Our final focus will establish logistics network given the distance to the site.

Green & Recycled Material

Our products consist of approximately 45% recycled material, the panels are 100% recyclable, factory finished with no VOC, and contain no asbestos. Fly ash and pulp are included as recycled materials, reducing resource consumption during production. In
our manufacturing process, all discharged water is treated by the latest treatment technologies and recycled as much as possible.

Fire Resistance Characteristics

CERACLAD is a fiber cement panel rain screen system manufactured by KMEW Co., Ltd. All panel products meet or exceed the standards of ASTM 1186 and ICC-ES AC- 90. CERACLAD products are Type A, Grade I as defined in ASTM 1186.

Assembly Wind Resistance

ASTM E330 Standard Test Methods for determining structural performance of panels under uniform static air pressure difference. Maximum allowable transverse loads, based on a safety factor of 3, are available for the following combinations of wall assembly and CERACLAD assembly.
Additional wind tested assemblies along with a full code compliance report from ICC can be found in ESR 1627.

Exceptional Dimensional Stability

All CERACLAD panels are cured in an autoclave to produce excellent dimensional stability. Other cement panel products can take several years to fully cure, with a risk of warping of the base material over time. CERACLAD panels are subjected to high pressure and temperatures to accelerate curing. The maximum amount of expansion and contraction after 400 days is ±1.1mm or 0.05%.

Air Purifying

The photocatalytic coating decomposes car exhaust and other pollutants in the air (NOx and SOx) and turns them into NO3 harmless polyatomic ions leaving the air cleaner.

Plants purify pollutants such as NOx (nitrogen oxides) contained in car exhaust. The poplar tree is one of the plants that absorbs the most NOx.

The air purification capability of photocatalytic coating is appx. 0.44g/day/sq.ft. (0.04g/day/m2), which is 68 poplar trees per 10,000 sq.ft.

The air purifying properties of the photocatalytic coating for a 10,000 sq.ft. building is equal to planting 68 poplar trees. 10 CERACLAD panels is equal to planting 1 poplar tree.

Product Promise

CERACLAD employs an advanced Triple Coated process in the manufacturing of our panels. This exceptional process grants our products a comprehensive warranty package, including a 20-year anti-fade warranty and an impressive 30-year product warranty. The ceramic seal, a key component of this process, acts as a robust shield against color fading caused by UV light exposure.

Additionally, our final photocatalytic seal serves as a stalwart defender against dirt and grime adhesion to our panels. Working in synergy with UV rays and rain, this seal effectively dislodges and removes accumulated debris, ensuring that our panels maintain their pristine appearance, just as they did on the day of application.

Rainscreen Moisture Management

CERACLAD Rainscreen Moisture Management System is an advanced construction assembly that incorporates proven rain-shielding technology. The system consists of pre-finished siding panels and innovative mounting clips and accessories that are manufactured and designed for durability, flexibility, and ease of installation.

Our exclusive technology combines a durable weather-resistant exterior with an internal
ventilation layer that allows moisture to escape. Buildings using the CERACLAD Rainscreen
Exterior Siding System are more energy efficient, and sustainable, have fewer maintenance problems and provide a healthier living environment for their occupants.
