About the Artist

Eva George is a Coast Salish artist born in 1998, a mother of two and stepmom to one, raised on the Songhees Nation near Victoria City, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Her artistic journey began at the age of 12, influenced by her sister, Winona Horne, and her grandfather, Elmer George. Eva's passion for First Nations art grew during her school years, inspired by her sister’s designs in various programs and her grandpa’s art book, which sparked a lifelong dedication to this cultural tradition.

Eva’s talent became widely recognized when she designed for the Victoria Grizzlies hockey team in 2022 and 2023, where her unique style, rooted in Coast Salish traditions, breathed new life into the team’s visual identity.  She also has created a design for Telus, which has been featured on their corporate vehicles. This piece is a memorium to her late sister, M.T., marking a poignant and personal milestone in her artistic journey.

Driven by a deep sense of responsibility to keep Coast Salish art alive for future generations, Eva is passionate about inspiring and engaging younger youth in this vital cultural art form. With a heart full of heritage and creativity, Eva George continues to weave the vibrant tapestry of Coast Salish art, ensuring its future while honoring its past.

Unveil your Creativity

Ceraclad is excited to introduce our first panel printed murals by Eva George.
Eva was selected to design artwork to be displayed as a mural down 5 stories of a new ‘Affordable Housing’ apartment complex built by Aryze Developments, Admirals; on the Songhees Nation reserve, further contributing to the cultural vibrancy of her community. She designed the imagery using her IPAD on the Procreate application and Ceraclad was able to convert the file into a large format printed mural done in Japan. Symbols of Strength, Unity, and Growth- Admirals Mural Songhees Nation

"The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack."
This powerful statement underscores the importance of unity and teamwork. Just as a wolf thrives within its pack, individuals find strength and support within a community. Together, we are stronger, and our collective power enables us to face the challenges ahead.

The eagle is not only a majestic creature but also a symbol of love, friendship, honor, bravery, and mysticism—qualities that we admire and aspire to embody. Its soaring flight represents our highest ideals and our desire to rise above obstacles with grace and courage.

The mountains stand as a metaphor for life’s challenges, reminding us that the most difficult climbs often lead to the greatest achievements. It’s through perseverance and determination that we reach new heights, gaining wisdom with each step.

The moon marks the first milestone on our journey toward the stars. It represents the beginning of our dreams, small yet significant, guiding us on our way to greater heights. Like the moon, we start small, but with time, our aspirations grow and expand toward the infinite.

As the sunset ushers in the close of today, it signals the promise of tomorrow’s hopes. The colors of the sky, shaped by the clouds, reflect the richness of life’s experiences, showing us that even in moments of transition, beauty and possibility abound.

Like the bear who moves through the forest with strength and wisdom, we too must face the unknown with courage. In the darkest woods, the bear teaches us to trust our instincts, to be resilient in the face of challenges, and to find peace in solitude. The forest may be vast and uncertain, but the bear reminds us that when we walk with purpose, we are never truly lost.

In each of these symbols—the wolf, eagle, mountains, moon, sunset, and bear—we find reminders of strength, unity, resilience, and personal growth. Together, they inspire us to embrace life’s challenges with courage, determination, and a deep respect for the journey ahead
